Your videos.
Every screen.
No fuss.
Otterplay finds the media servers on your network and plays your videos on your phone, tablet, and TV — in a couple of taps.
The same library, on every screen
A look at the Otterplay interface — go ahead and scroll it. The cinematic Apple TV home, first-run server discovery, and the phone.
Simple by default
Otterplay makes the everyday case effortless — and looks good doing it. No manuals, no settings safari, no dead ends.
Finds your servers
Otterplay scans your network and lists the DLNA, SMB and NFS servers it finds — tap one and start browsing. No IP addresses to type.
DLNA, SMB & NFS
Stream from UPnP/DLNA media servers, shared SMB folders, or NFS exports. Passworded SMB shares are supported — sign in once and Otterplay remembers; NFS is host-based, so there's nothing to type.
Subtitles that work
Embedded tracks and sidecar .srt files both show up in the picker. Switch languages mid-playback in a tap.
Pick up where you left off
Pause anytime and come back later — Otterplay saves your place per video and keeps it waiting on the home screen.
Phone to big screen
One codebase, native on all of it: iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android and Android TV — with D-pad focus that actually feels right on the couch.
Free & private
No account, no cloud, no tracking. Your library stays on your network and your credentials stay in the device's secure keychain.
From install to playing
Connect
Open Otterplay and it lists the media servers on your Wi-Fi. Tap to connect — or add one by address if you prefer.
Browse
Walk your folders, or turn on the library view to see everything as a wall of posters.
Play
Tap a video. Pick subtitles, adjust speed, fill the screen — then hand the remote to the couch and relax.
Default settings, no config
Most home servers work out of the box. Otterplay tells you at a glance which ones are reachable and gets out of the way.
- A green dot means it's online and ready — a grey one means it's simply not reachable right now, not an error you caused.
- Servers that move to a new IP are recognised and reconnected automatically.
- SMB sign-in appears only when a share needs it — guest access is tried first.
At home on every device
